We have a brewery job vacancy: Part Time Taproom Assistant. Please come and work with us!

We are looking for someone to join our busy, independent microbrewery in the heart of the South Downs. Initially the role will be permanent, part time on Friday and Saturday, but other hours will be also available. This job requires someone who is flexible with working patterns and comfortable working across many aspects of the business to support the brewery team. The role is primarily based in the Taproom and there are also opportunities to be involved in our events – on and offsite – as well as office support and working within the brewhouse. Full training will be given.

Working Hours are Friday 11am to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 6pm.
Extra shifts will also be available on an ad hoc basis.

Main Responsibilities
Lead the taproom operation and support the brewery administrative work on Fridays and Saturdays.
Interact with customers, take orders, and serve pizza, snacks and drinks.
Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age.
Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies liaising with brewery managers.
Responsible for maintaining hygiene standards in the taproom, including kitchen, store room,
cellar and bathroom.
Support the work of the Retail Business Manager answering phone calls, emails and requests from pub trade customers and retail customers.
Competently use the brewery software to place orders and stock keep. Training will be provided.
Work with the brewery team to deliver business targets and objectives and attend monthly
staff meeting, which may be outside of working hours.
Stay guest focused and create an excellent guest experience.

Requirements
A love of beer! Some knowledge of different beer styles.
Experience in cellaring and beer serving is a bonus but training will be provided.
Experience in hospitality and/or customer service.
Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
Strong team skills but able to work independently when required.
Ability to keep the Taproom organised, stocked and clean, and identify areas for improvement.
Ideally able to drive and have use of your own vehicle.

Additional duties subject to applicant
Full UK Driving licence is a bonus should the brewery need drayman support on an ad hoc basis.
