Live Music from:
The Charcoal Burners
The Charcoal Burners are a barnstorming modern folk fusion group playing an intoxicating blend of original songs with fast and furious mixture of new and traditional tunes. Lead singer David O’Brien has been writing and performing since the early 1980’s with his band Prime Suspect, touring with Hazel O’Connor, recorded with Ray Dorset of Mungo Jerry, even replacing Duran Duran on Hazel’s last gig of the Breaking Glass tour.
Martin Ruinet, a multi-instrumentalist on whistle, harmonica, mandolin & mandola provides the humour and Art Gelling on Bass and Cajon, beats rhythm that will have you itching to dance. Together, their voices soaring in harmony, makes music which is very special indeed.
Choro Bandido are a Surrey based four piece band brought together through friendship and their mutual love of Choro, the music of Rio. As well as entertaining audiences with traditional Choro tunes, they have also branched out, playing a variety of music from South America and Latin influenced songs from as far afield as Italy and Cape Verde, as well as their own original compositions. In a niche all of their own, Choro Bandido’s sultry performances will charm and transport you with their rich depth of sound and playful nature.
Fate The Juggler
Playing festivals alongside the likes of Squeeze and the Proclaimers, as well as supporting Oysterband and Cara Dillon have been just some of the band’s highlights. Expect vintage melodically soft rock n roll at its best.
“This is a band at one with itself, full of expert musicians enjoying themselves, all giving their expressive selves and all remaining tight as a unit” – Folking.com
FOCs are a four piece covers band – all highly experienced performers and musicians with many years gigging and recording experience – who play a variety of rock, pop and indie covers; everything from the 60s onwards.
Singer songwriter with an incredibly beautiful voice.
Torpedoes play a distinctive range of original post-punk compositions with a quiet nod to melody, alongside hard-edged guitars… but don’t fear, the odd mellow track or two also feature!
The band comprises Razor on guitar & vocals, Ben on guitar and vocals, Elvis on drums and Shirley on bass guitar – names have been altered for no apparent reason.
Despite appearances Torpedoes are just ordinary chaps, who like a beer, a curry and a laugh. They just tend to wear black a lot!
Wavy Davy Band
A group of fine, experienced musicians who perform a perfect blend of classic country and rock songs in the most appropriate manner to suit any occasion!
Keith on drums, Andy on bass and Adrian on lead guitar provide a tight delivery of pure contemporary sounds in support of both Jackie and Davy on vocals.
