We’re excited to host the very first Yellow Moon Festival – featuring Americana, Bluegrass, Folk and Old Time – here at the brewery on Saturday 16th August.
Expect our usual relaxed style; a fabulous atmosphere, wonderful live music, a well-stocked, award-winning bar and delicious, fresh street food.
Featured artists:
The Vanguards are a five-piece traditional bluegrass band; their high lonesome three-part harmonies and instrumental prowess brings a taste of the hard-driving early years of this acoustic offspring of country music. As well as performing masterful interpretations of bluegrass classics, they write and perform wholly original music which evokes the sound and feel of bluegrass music’s pioneers.
Jonas And Jane BBC Folk Award nominated Charlie Jonas and Katherine Jane are a captivating songwriting harmony duo performing original music influenced by bluegrass and Old Time. They have released three records and toured extensively across the US and UK, featuring appearances at prestigious events such as the Cambridge Folk Festival, CarFest (following a live performance on the Chris Evans BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show), Didmarton Bluegrass Festival, and Crossover Festival.
Jack Pout is a BBC Folk award nominated singer/songwriter from Norwich, based in Brighton. Inspired by the revivalist musicians of the 60’s and 70’s, such as John Martyn, Duster Bennett, Bob Dylan and Chris Smither.
KB Bayley is a songwriter and lap steel guitar player whose songs and sound reveal his influences: Americana and the Laurel Canyon era; traditional fingerstyle folk; and contemporary troubadours like John Moreland, Kelly Joe Phelps, Gretchen Peters, Jeff Foucault and Patty Griffin.
Guildford Bluegrass Band perform bluegrass standards, drawing inspiration from the 70s and 80s bluegrass bands and on the collective experience of members active in other musical projects.
Flint County are a bluegrass band based in Brighton who’s dobro player was chosen to perform on the international stage in North Carolina at the IBMA World of Bluegrass and will perform at The European World of Bluegrass 2025.
The Hogs Back String Band brings the sounds of Appalachian string bands. Their music features a driving and harmonious blend of clawhammer banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and bass, delivering an authentic and energetic old-time experience.
We’ll be collecting for the Friends Of The South Downs and the South Downs National Park‘s ‘Help Nature to Renature’ and other similar projects which safeguard our wonderful landscape.
Early bird tickets for Yellow Moon Festival are now on sale.
