Bonkers For Conkers At Langham Brewery

We’re thrilled to present The Green Rock River Band, plus support from saxophonist Martin Gray, here at the brewery on Saturday 28th September.

Banjos, fiddles, washboards, harmonies…
The Green Rock River Band are “far from your ordinary country band” The Maverick Magazine.

The event is free to enjoy, with proceeds to The David Nott Foundation. David’s close relatives, Johnny and Bis Culley are great friends of the brewery. David and Elly Nott founded the David Nott Foundation to further the principles and improve the standards and practice of humanitarian surgery. The Foundation achieves this through the education and training of medical professionals and raising the profile of humanitarian surgery in the UK and worldwide.
Please do give generously.

We’re pleased and proud to announce that from this Wednesday – 31st July – we’ll be launching our first Double IPA.⠀
⠀
Hoppy Number, 5.7%, is so called because it is not once, not twice, but triple dry hopped; with Mosaic, Citra and Simcoe. ⠀
⠀
This IPA has a superb malty body and shed loads of hops for even more aroma and flavour, plus we’ve a ‘special’ ingredient which gives a subtle sweetness and an even more refreshing taste. It is vegan friendly. ⠀

Hoppy Number: it’s hoppy, it’s super fruity and we are now taking orders.

We’re reaching out to all serious sports men, women, families, children (and their dogs) to join our annual daredevil contest of skill and danger and celebrate ‘Conktober’ with us.

Our much-loved, well-supported annual conker competition began life in 2007; this year marks the event’s 12th birthday. Join us at our beautiful ‘brewery in a barn’ on the Cowdray Estate – on Sunday 13th October.

It’s free to come along, but please give generously, as we’ll be collecting for Chestnut Tree House Hospice Care Sussex.

There will be 2 competitions to find the junior (8 to 15 years) and senior conker champions of 2019.
World championship rules apply… and all conkers are provided by the organisers (so no cheating!). This is serious (& very fun) stuff!

Players can register to play conkers online soon.

There will also be (of course!) an excellent bar with many of our award winning ales available. Throughout the afternoon, the crowd will be musically entertained, plus there will delicious food to try from The Braai Bros – with their incredible South African BBQ. You now have the opportunity to combine a wonderful Cycle Tour of our stunning local area and a Brewery Tour at our award winning brewery.

We’ve teamed up with Chalkpit Cycle Trails, who will collect you from the local station, lend you top-notch bikes and send you on your way through the South Downs National Park towards Langham Brewery.

The next available cycle and brewery tour is Saturday 20th July.

The details:
Starting from Amberley Railway Station, take a one way cycle ride along The South Downs Way, through small pretty West Sussex villages to Langham Brewery in Lodsworth. Stop for lunch along the way – either with a picnic or visit one of many village pubs and cafes suggested on the route guide.
Once at the brewery we will treat you to a 2 hour tour and beer tasting session. Food is also available with us through pre-booking.
Chalkpit will then collect you, the bikes and any purchases you make, and return you to Amberley Railway Station.

Our English hoppy blonde – Godiva – makes a welcome return.
This limited edition is daughter of our 2016’s Jester’s hop and named due to the plant having very few leaves, ie naked!
A beautiful blonde ale, brewed with Maris Otter malting Barley. The hop profile is forward in style, with a tangerine nose and sweet citrus flavour, balanced with floral English Cascade. We are proud to be the only brewery in Sussex to trial this excellent hop.
