“Beautiful Beer From A Beautiful Brewery.”

TOTALLY BONKERS AT LANGHAM BREWERY: A GREAT BIG THANK YOU.

Our team would like to say a great big, insanely happy thank you to everyone who came along and enjoyed the 15^th Annual Conker Competition in aid of the Chestnut Tree House at Langham Brewery on Sunday (9th October).

The sun shone on the daring competitors, keen to demonstrate their skill and courage and win the honour their name on the the Senior and Junior Championship cup and plate.

First to set up at the brewery were Merv and Dave with their gleaming mini-steam engines, closely followed by Mike Noble, from Noble and Stace Chocolatieres, who kindly donated a fabulous “Guess the Weight of the Chocolate Jar” . Chestnut Tree House was represented by the lovely Nicky Clark and her most excellent sidekick, Sidney the Squirrel (aka Marcus Hoare), who made friends with and entertained the happy crowd, but sadly didn’t win the competition! As well as the fabulous raffle, tombola, quoits and cornhole games, Sarah Lewis and Heather Stephens offered a fabulous feast of creative face painting.

This year’s Senior Champion and winner of the Langham’s Cup was Andy Statham, who in a fierce battle, finally vanquished David Shepherd – an experienced and keen Lodsworth local.  The winner of the Junior Shield was a newcomer, Ollie Ranson, who fought off the excellent Harris Meikle and Archie Thomas in a nail-biting 3 man final.

Fearless regular umpire Adrian Morris was defeated by a lurgy. His last minute space was filled by the Championship’s first female umpire, a previous conkerer local Lodsworthian, Emma Davies, who did an excellent job ably assisted by Martin “Spike” Leggat, James Berrow and Ben Foulkes, who kept the score and when needed, the peace!  Returning again to keep the conkers strung and umpires happy were the excellent backstage and registration team of Katie Foulkes, Chandni Narvekar and Caroline Douglas.  

Non-stop entertainment was provided by the excellent Portsmouth Victory Morris and fabulous Wavy Davy band, who kept the music flowing all through the contest.   

A special mention must go to the Cocking Farm shop for their fabulous Oxford sandy and black field farmed hog roast, wonderful veggie options and delicious homemade apple cake.

we’re looking forward to the next event here at the brewery – our Mid-Winter Festival.
Please join us on Saturday 3rd December from 1pm – 3pm for a fabulous mummers play, morris dancing and live folk music, with the Prize Old Mummers, Mary Rose and Royal George Dancers and music from Plastic Shamrocks and Spinnaker Shanty We look forward to welcoming everyone back soon!

Triple XXX was an award winner at Hampshire Octoberfest – and we’re proud!

Our Triple XXX was awarded the Runner-Up Beer Of The Festival at the recent Hampshire Octoberfest.

Up against stiff competition, and voted for by a well-informed, scholarly group of beer enthusiasts (the visiting public), we’re so happy that our dark, chocolate-malty, smooth-hopped winter mild ale did us proud.

In celebration of its success, Our Triple XXX has been chosen as our Beer Of The Month for October.

Congratulations to the winner – a West Coast IPA from Delphic Brewery called ‘Can’t Kick up the Roots’.

Our autumn/winter opening hours will commence on Saturday 1st October.

Our Taproom’s new autumn/winter opening hours will commence on Saturday 1st October, and we’re looking forward to offering you a warm welcome.

During the cooler months, our cosy, welcoming Taproom will open Thursday and Friday from 10am until 7.30pm, and on Saturdays from 10am until 5pm.

The Taproom has become a popular place to enjoy freshly-brewed ales – with a delicious selection of 7 cask ales and 4 keg beers on tap, as well as ciders, wines, soft drinks, tea, coffee and light bites.

Our location means we’re a popular pitstop for those enjoying the South Downs National Park and the South Downs Way. The Taproom has gained many 5***** Star reviews on Google and Trip Advisor, and is a much-loved go-to for our Taproom regulars as well as visitors to the area.
Muddy boots and canine companions always welcome!
