Little old us – your small and completely independent steam-powered micro brewery in the South Downs National Park – has beaten all the fierce competition from other local breweries in the South East of England to become… wait for it…

Overall GOLD Winner of the regional Society of Independent Brewers – SIBA South East competition!

The prestigious awards, run by the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) at the Tonbridge Juddians Beer Festival in Kent, are judged by brewers and beer experts and seen very much as the ‘brewers choice’ awards in the industry.

We took home the overall Gold in the cask competition with Triple XXX; our smooth dark traditional malty mild.

We are, of course, completely thrilled at this news and would like to give a huge thanks to all our supporters and friends – we simply couldn’t have achieved this without you.

We’re thrilled that our much-loved, award-winning Hip Hop is the beer of the month at The Crown Inn in Chiddingfold.

An idyllic English pub, The Crown nestles in a quiet corner of this picture-perfect village in Surrey.
This is a perfect refuel pit-stop for folks on their way to Good Wood Festival Of Speed!

More about Hip Hop:
Following in the modern tradition of blonde strongly-hopped beers, this is a classic blonde beer — clean and crisp. The nose is loaded with floral hop aroma while the pale malt flavour is overtaken by a pleasing dry and bitter finish.

We feel blessed for our brewery to be situated in this most incredibly beautiful part of the country – between Lodsworth and Petworth in the South Downs National Park.

And at our next ‘Live At Langhams’ we’ll do our best to support the good work that the South Downs National Park and the South Downs Way carry out…

The event, on Saturday 26th August, will be our usual relaxed style of summertime family fun – with live music (10 + excellent bands), fine local food (hog roast, veggie options, cakes and icecreams), plus a well-stocked bar (with over 14 of our excellent ales, plus ciders, wines and softs) – and a lovely, friendly atmosphere.

The South Downs National Park plan to bring along their ‘events van’, chock-full of information, maps and leaflets etc, plus fun activities for the children (and the big kids within us all!). Expect giant jigsaws, badge making, a ‘feely box’, plus a chance to meet the South Downs Rangers and more.

We look forward to welcoming you (and the family) in August. The event is free, but do give generously, as we will be collecting for the South Downs Way; we’d like to help pass the beautiful park on to future generations!

We’d like to introduce to you our new, limited edition, lovely: ‘Godiva’.
We’re launching this new blonde ale at Yapton Beerex on Friday 12th May.

Godiva is the daughter of last year’s Jester hop and is named Godiva due to the plant
having few leaves – so a naked plant!
The beer is 4.3% ABV and blonde, brewed with Maris Otter malting barley.
The hop profile is forward in style, with the Godiva giving a tangerine nose and a sweet citrus flavour, balanced with floral English Cascade.

We’re proud and pleased to be the only brewery in Sussex to trial this excellent hop.
